We live in Portland, but were headed to Bangor for a wedding.
I decided to watch TV and sure enough an hour later all was quiet. Add to that the doors SLAMMING shut it was terrible. The noise was muffled but you could make out everything they were saying. The doors were solid wood (so they appeared) and it appeared efforts had been made to reduce noise, but ultimately at 11:30, the folks in the room next door returned and it was like they were in our room. We were in a river view king size room which was an adjoining the room next to it. We were on the 4th floor and the elevators were pretty fast, so that made me happy.ĭespite the fast elevators and the clean room, the one primary thing I want to be able to do at a hotel is sleep. It was among the cleanest hotel rooms we have stayed in. There were no smells, and nothing to find at fault. So we paid a premium for our stay ($430 for one night). The hotel refused to honor our AARP discount, claiming that they won't honor discounts when there is a concert in town. We decided that it would be nice to treat ourselves to a nice night out and stay at the casino and enjoy a weekend away.
